How to Create a New Virtual Machine for Mojave on VMware Workstation 15.0.3
After downloading the necessary tools to your computer, open the VMware virtualization program and follow the stages below in order to create a new virtual machine for macOS Mojave 10.14.
When you want to create a new virtual machine for macOS Mojave on VMware you will see that there is no macOS option in the operating system selection window. So, to use a macOS operating system on VMware, you need to open the lock.
The VMware Unlocker program is used to unlock the macOS lock. Download VMware Unlocker 2.1.1 from the above links.
To unlock the macOS lock, first close the VMware Workstation 15.0.3 program.
After unzipping the VMware Unlocker 2.1.1.zip file, run the win-install.cmd file as an administrator.
Wait while VMware Unlocker configures the required configurations. This process takes a few seconds.
Now, reopen VMware Workstation 15.0.3 Pro and click Create a new virtual machine.
Select Custom (Advanced) and click on the Next button.
Select the I will install the operating system lateroption and click Next.
After you unlock the macOS lock using VMware Unlocker 2.1.1, you can now see that Apple OS Mac OS X is the operating system selection window on VMware.
In the Version section, select macOS 10.14.
Click on the Next button to continue installing Mojave with VMware.
Running Mojave virtual machine on external hard disk will give you performance boost. Click the Browse button to store and run the virtual machine on another HDD.
Insert your Portable HDD and click OK after creating a new folder.
You can configure the virtual machine name as macOSMojave1014. Click on the Next button to continue creating a virtual machine for Mojave.
The minimum processor requirement for running Mojave 10.14 is as shown in the following image. Depending on the hardware specifications of your computer, you can increase these values. Click Next to continue.
For the macOS 10.14 virtual machine, specify the 4 GB RAM value and click on the Next button.
Select NAT for the network settings of the virtual machine and click Next.
Select LSI Logic for I/O Controller type and continue.
Select SATA as the disk type and continue.
To create a new virtual hard disk for the virtual machine, select Create a new virtual diskand click on the Next button.
For disk configuration of the virtual machine, select the Store virtual disk as a single file option and click Next.
Leave the virtual machine disk name as default and click Next.
Open the hardware settings by clicking on the Customize Hardware button.
Click Processors and check Virtualize Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V/RVIfrom the options on the right and click on the Close button.
To add the macOS ISO file to the virtual machine, click on the CD/DVD (SATA) option and then the Browse button in the Use ISO image file.
Select the ISO file you downloaded to your computer and click the Open button.
Click the Close button to save the settings.
Click the Finish button and complete the stage to create the virtual machine.
Before installing macOS Mojave 10.14 with VMware Workstation 15.0.3, go to your virtual machine location and open macOSMojave1014.vmx.
Add the [ smc.version = “0” ] code to the macOSMojave1014.vmx file and save the file.
How to Install macOS Mojave 10.14 on VMware Workstation 15.0.3
After creating a new virtual machine for macOS 10.14 using VMware Workstation 15.0.3, follow the stages below in order to install macOS Mojave 10.14.
Open VMware Workstation and run the virtual machine you created.
Wait while the virtual machine power on.
Select the system language you want to use and click the Continue button.
Select Disk Utility and click the Continue button.
Select Virtual SATA Hard Drive Media and click the Erase button.
In the Name field, type the disk name and click on the Erase button again.
After completing the disk erase, click the Done button.
Close the Disk Utility.
Select Install macOS and click the Continue button.
Click the Continue button to start the installation.
Accept the license agreement.
Click on the disk to be installed mac OS 10.14 and then click the Install button.
Wait while the installation files are copying.
The installation of macOS Mojave 10.14 on VMware will be completed in about 45 minutes.
After the installation is complete, your system will restart and the configuration settings will be opened.
Select the keyboard layout you want to use and click the Continue button.
Click the Continue button to accept the Apple privacy and security configuration.
For a clean Mojave installation on VMware Workstation 14/15, select Don’t transfer any information now and click Continue.
Click Set Up Later to sign in later on Apple.
Create a new user account for macOS Mojave and click Continue.
Click on the Continue button to allow Apple Maps other applications and to send your data to help improve Apple.
If you do not want this, you can configure your settings by clicking Customize Settings.
Dark Mode is one of the most eye-catching features of macOS Mojave 10.14. Mojave changes your desktop experience based on daylight. Select the appearance you want to use and click the Continue button.
Wait while the setup configures your settings.
