Microsoft’s Honolulu project provides web-based management of servers on the network. It provides instant information about server resource usage and also allows you to manage all administrative tools via a web browser.

How to Install Microsoft Honolulu Project Step by Step

After installing the Server 2019 Technical Preview and downloading the Honolulu application, follow the steps below to install it step by step.

   Step 1

Double-click on the file named Honolulu.msi to launch the installation. Accept the license agreement in the Honolulu installation window and click on the Next button.

For Microsoft’s other products, including Windows and Honolulu, select the Use Microsoft Update option and click Next.

Select the Allow Project “Honolulu” to modify this machine’s trusted hosts settings and the Create a desktop shortcut to launch Project “Honolulu” options and then click Next.

For testing purposes, you can leave the Honolulu port number at the default value (443). You can change the Honolulu port number later.

You can start to install Honolulu Project by clicking the Install button.

If you only have Internet Explorer on Server 2019, you will see that this browser is not supported. Therefore, we recommend using Google Chrome.

Skip the Honolulu login certificate error, and type your administrative username and password in the authentication window, and then click the Log in button.

After opening Honolulu project, click on a server in All Connections to connect to any server.

You will need to authenticate when connecting to the Server 2019 server using Honolulu. Enter the management user information and click on the Log in button to continue.

When the Specify your credentials window opens, type your same username information again and click the Continue button.
