Apple announced the macOS 11 Big Sur operating system, which has the most advanced design update since the release of the Mac OS X system, to its users on November 12, 2020.

Raising the user experience to the highest level with the macOS 11 version, Apple improved the window corners of the system to a more curved and colorful appearance. It redesigned system sounds so that users can hear them better, and also introduced new symbols for tools and sidebars, and control icons to improve consistency and efficiency across apps.

What’s New?

Menu Bar

A new interface has been added to the menu bar for faster access to settings such as Bluetooth, WiFi, screen brightness, and volume in the macOS Big Sur system.

Notification Center

An interactive and transparent interface has been added for users to access notifications faster. Also, a customizable widget system has been added, just like in iOS versions.

Processor Support

The first support for Apple’s newly developed M1 processors has been presented with macOS 11 Big Sur. In this way, Big Sur was the most suitable system for Mac computers with M1 processors.

iOS and iPadOS App Support

With Big Sur, iOS and iPadOS apps can now be easily installed and run on Mac. These apps on macOS will be able to run natively as if running on an iPhone or iPad.

Safari

Apple’s Safari browser has new improvements regarding users’ security in the Big Sur version, as in every new macOS version. Users will be able to make separate permission arrangements for new extensions they will add to Safari and will be able to automatically translate web pages in other languages into their preferred language.

News in Messages

In addition to group conversations in the native messaging application, users can share video or GIF content faster, as in iOS.

Maps

With the new development of the map application, users can now explore new places in public places. Thus, they can create personalized routes for bicycles or electric vehicles and send the ways they set from Mac to iPhone.

Notes

Added the ability to collapse and format pinned content in the Notes app.

Photos

Users now have new options for editing their photos in the photo app. Along with improving the retouch tool, the ability to zoom images is also among the improvements.

Encryption

Apple has added the SHA-256 hash value to prevent all files on the system volume from being modified or accessed by others. Thus, it has taken an important step in terms of system security by increasing the protection of user data.

Also, with macOS One Sur 11 release, users now have system-volume and file-level encryption.

Update System

New macOS updates can now be launched in the background without restarting the Mac. Thus, installing system updates takes less time and does not interfere with users’ work.

Spotlight

The Spotlight application, a fast search engine in the macOS system, has been developed, making it easier for users to find applications or any resource faster and offering a more modern interface.

Time Machine

With the development of Time Machine, users can now perform system backups to storage drives with the APFS file format.

What is Big Sur ISO?

The Big Sur ISO file we shared is prepared on a physical Mac computer, making it easy to install or update your existing Mac computers by booting them with a USB flash drive.

As a result, the macOS Big Sur ISO file we shared was created using the terminal on the macOS operating system via the Installer.app downloaded from the App Store.

It also lets you experience the macOS system on new virtual machines using virtualization programs such as VMware Workstation or VirtualBox.
