The Windows Performance test scores according to the hardware specifications of your computer. For example, after adding a new RAM to your computer, you will see an increase in the RAM score level when you run the Windows WEI test again.
Windows performance testing is also done with the CMD command prompt on Windows. But you can do a faster scoring test using a 3rd party program. You can start the Windows performance test by right-clicking on My Computer and clicking Properties in the window that opens. If your operating system is Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8, you will be able to see the Windows Experience Index feature in the opened computer properties.
The Windows WEI performance test has been removed from Windows 8.1. Nowadays, there is no Windows Experience Index Score feature on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 operating systems.
How to Run Windows Experience Index on Windows 8?
If you are using a Windows 8 operating system, follow the steps below to perform a performance test for your computer.
Click on the Right Button / Properties on my computer and then click System rating not available.
In the Performance Information and Tools window, click the Rate this computer option.
Wait while it runs the Windows Experience Index on your computer.
The scoring system for the hardware performance of your computer after Windows scoring is complete is as follows.
You can see that you have a Windows Experience Index score instead of the System rating is not available option.
How to Run Windows Experience Index on Windows 10?
You can use a 3rd Party software because there is not Windows Experience Index feature on the Windows 10 operating system. You can use the ExperienceIndexOK program to rate your system on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
Download the ExperienceIndexOK 1.17 program by clicking on the following button before starting the Windows 10 performance test.
Unzip the zipped file you downloaded and run the program as an administrator.
After running ExperienceIndexOK 1.17, click the Re-run the assessment option.
Wait for WinSAT.exe (Windows System Assessment Tool) to perform the performance test of your computer.
When the Windows 10 performance test is over, you will see a system rating score as shown below.
