SNMP provides management of network devices. We can control all network devices with a network card through the SNMP service. A network device can be on a computer. We can monitor information such as the CPU usage of a computer with SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol).
After installing the SNMP service in Windows 10 operating system, we will check whether it is running in the Services window. And then we will configure the SNMP service security settings and the Trap configuration.
How to Activate SNMP on Windows 10?
We can now move on to the steps of activating SNMP on Windows 10. If you want to turn this service off after enabling SNMP service, you need to reverse the same process.
On the Windows 10 Start menu, click Right Button / Programs and Features.
In the Programs and Properties window, click Turn on or off Windows properties as shown below.

Check the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) checkbox box.
Once you have selected the SNMP service, click OK to continue with the installation.

How to Configure SNMP Security Settings in Windows 10?
After activating SNMP on Windows 10, we will configure SNMP security settings in Windows 10 so that only devices with the specified Community information will be able to communicate with the SNMP service to provide network security.
Likewise, in the Services window, click the right button / Properties on the SNMP service.
The SNMP Service Properties window will open as follows. From this window, click the Security tab.
As you can see in the image below, there are Community settings for SNMP. Click the Add button to add SNMP Community.
In the Community rights option, type READ ONLY and SNMP to the Community Name option and click the Add button to complete the operation.
A second way in the Windows 10 SNMP service security settings is to configure SNMP Traps. In the SNMP service properties window, click the Traps tab.
In the SNMP Traps settings, type SNMP in the Community Name section and click the Add to List button.
Check the drop-down list that the SNMP name is added to the list in the trap settings.
