How to Use Snapshot on VMware Workstation 14/12 to Backup a Virtual Machine?

If you have not previously installed VMware, install VMware Workstation on Windows 10. After installing VMware, open the program and click on a virtual machine that you created earlier.
To get Snapshot of the selected virtual machine, click the on the icon (Add Snapshot) you see in the image below.
When the Take Snapshot window opens, type a name and description for the backup of the virtual machine, and then click the Take Snapshot button.
After you click the Take Snapshot button, the window will close. Click the Snapshot Manager button to check the Snapshot you created.
Click on Snapshot you created.
You can check the name and description of Snapshot you created in this window. Now click the Close button.
You can also take, delete, and restore Snapshot in this window.
After checking the snapshot, run the virtual machine by clicking the Power on this virtual machine button.
To better understand the use of Snapshot on VMware, install a program like Speccy when you open the virtual machine.
Now, turn off the virtual machine.
After you close your virtual machine, click Snapshot Manager.
To restore the virtual machine in VMware, select the Snapshot you created and click Go To.
You will see an “By restoring this snapshot, the current state will be lost. Do you want to restore “Snapshot Name“” warning window as you see in the image below. Click the Yes button to start the Snapshot Restore process.
As soon as you press the Yes button, the window will close. Now run the virtual machine to verify the Snapshot restore.
You have successfully completed the steps to take and restore Snapshot on VMware Workstation! When you review the image below, you can see that the Speccy program is not installed on the virtual machine.
