Intel Virtualization Technology is related to the hardware feature on the desktop or laptop. This feature must be enabled in order to use virtualization programs such as VMware Workstation and Oracle VirtualBox.

In order to run the operating systems if necessary with hardware virtualization, your computer must be enabled in the BIOS settings on the motherboard. Intel Virtualization Technology can not enable this feature if your motherboard’s processor does not have this feature since it is built into the processor.

However, you need to consider this feature when buying a new computer. Or, if a desktop computer processor does not support this feature, you need to purchase a new processor that supports Intel Virtualization Technology.

Personally, I personally assessed this feature before buying a new laptop. The following image shows features of Intel’s site after researching the processor model.

To enable Intel Virtualization Technology to use VMware or VirtualBox, especially in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems, the virtualization technology feature for intel and amd of processor (vt-x / amd-v) must be enabled. Today, virtually every new processor has this feature.

After giving brief information, now let’s enable Intel Virtualization Technology in our computer’s BIOS settings. Restart your computer and press F2 to enter the BIOS settings. We come to the Configuration section of the BIOS settings, and we see that Intel Virtualization Technology is off.

   Step 1

To enable Intel Virtualization Technology, Go to Intel Virtualization Technology and press Enter.

From the resulting option, highlight Enabled and press Enter.
