How to Install Windows Vista in Hyper-V Manager?
Before Windows Vista was released to the market, Windows was shipped to the market with a beta version of Longhorn. Windows Longhorn is a beta version developed after Windows XP.
The Windows Aero feature was first announced by Windows Vista. In addition, DirectX 10 support was introduced by Vista. In addition to these, we heard the Windows Sidebar feature for the first time with Vista.
Microsoft continued to support Windows Vista for 10 years and officially ended its support on April 11, 2017.
Nowadays, installing Windows Vista operating system on a computer is very unreasonable. As a result, Microsoft ended the update support of Vista.
But it would be a smart idea to install and test Windows Vista on a virtual machine using virtualization programs.

How to Install Windows Vista using Hyper-V on Windows 10?
After briefly discussing the history of Windows Vista, let’s move on to the installation steps. After creating a new virtual machine with the Hyper-V program, we will perform the Windows Vista installation step by step.

Follow the steps below for installing Windows Vista with Hyper-V on Windows 10.
Run Hyper-V Manager from the Windows menu.
From the Hyper-V Actions menu, click Virtual Machine.
Type a name for the Windows Vista virtual machine, and select Store the virtual machine in a different location to store the virtual machine in a different location and then click the Next button.
You can determine the amount of RAM you want for the Windows Vista virtual machine.
Set the 30 GB Hard Disk size for the virtual machine and click Next to continue the installation.
If you do not have the Windows Vista ISO file, you can download the computer from the link below. In the window below, click the Browse button to add the Windows ISO file and click Next.
Click the Start button in the following window to start the Windows Vista installation.
Choose which version of Windows Vista you want to install. And then click Enter.
Windows Vista installation on Hyper-V has started and can continue by clicking the Install button.
Select Windows Vista Ultimate X86 and click Next.
Accept the Windows Vista license agreement and click on the Next button.
Click Custom (Advanced).
Format the 30 GB space created for the virtual machine and create a new Partition. Select the Partition you created and click on the Next button.
Windows is preparing files for installation…
Wait while preparing your Windows computer. Installation of the virtual machine will continue.
Completing Windows Vista installation on Hyper-V…
Type your Windows Vista username.
Type the Computer Name for the Windows Vista virtual machine and continue with the installation.
Select the Use recommended settings option.
Set the operating system time zone and click on the Next button.
Windows Vista installation is complete. Restart the operating system by clicking the Start button.

Preparing the desktop…
After installing Windows Vista on Hyper-V, the virtual machine gives Boot error after restarting. To solve this problem, restart the virtual machine and press F8 to enter Windows recovery mode.
Press Enter on the Safe Mode with Command Prompt option.
Loading Windows Files…
Click the Next button in the Install Windows window.
Searching for Windows installation files…
In the System Recovery Options window, click Next.
Click on Command Prompt.
To resolve the boot problem of Windows Vista operating system on Hyper-V, perform the following commands at the command prompt and restart the virtual machine.
1 - bootrec /fixmbr 2 - bootrec /fixboot
After restarting the Windows Vista virtual machine, the operating system will start working properly!
From the View / Fullscreen option, you can use the virtual machine as a fullscreen.
