To create a new virtual machine using Hyper-V on Windows 10, follow the steps below in order.
After installing Hyper-V on Windows 10, run Hyper-V Manager.
From the Hyper-V Actions menu, click New, and then click Virtual Machine.
In the New Virtual Machine Wizard window, there are two options.
- Click the Finish button to create a virtual machine with default settings.
- Click Next to create a virtual machine with Custom configuration.
It is always advisable to create a Custom virtual machine. Click the Next button to continue.
You need to enter a name for the virtual machine you will create. If you are going to run Windows 10 operating system, you can type “Windows 10” in the Name field.

If you want the virtual machine to automatically adjust the amount of RAM, you can select Use Dynamic Memory for this virtual machine.
