In this article, we will examine the steps to enable and disable Hyper-V using the CMD command prompt.

To enable Hyper-V with CMD on Windows 10, execute the following command;

dism.exe /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:Microsoft-Hyper-V /All

 

To disable Hyper-V with CMD on Windows 10, execute the following command;

dism.exe /Online /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:Microsoft-Hyper-V-All

 
Note: When disabling Hyper-V, be sure to combine “Microsoft-Hyper-V-All” when you type the command.

How to Enable Hyper-V using CMD?

Before enabling Hyper-V using CMD on the Windows 10 operating system, you must run the command prompt as an administrator. Follow the steps below to enable Hyper-V.

   Step 1

On the Windows 10 start menu, click on the Right button / Command Prompt (Admin).

To enable Hyper-V, type the following command at the command prompt and press Enter.

dism.exe /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:Microsoft-Hyper-V /All

After applying the command, press the Y (Yes) button to restart your computer. After your computer restarts, you can see that Hyper-V Manager is installed.

After performing the Hyper-V installation, if you want to remove the Hyper-V virtualization program from your computer, you need to perform the following step.

   Step 1

To disable Hyper-V using CMD, execute the following command. Also, make sure that the property name is adjacent to the Microsoft-Hyper-V-All command.

dism.exe /Online /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:Microsoft-Hyper-V-All
