Since the PDF file format supports multiple platforms, the appearance and structure of the created documents can be edited and viewed by various operating systems. Multimedia elements such as text, video or audio, bookmarks, hypertext links, and images can be easily added to the content while editing the document.

Since PDF is one of the most widely used digital formats on the Internet for document exchange, it is preferred by companies, governments, and educational institutions more than other formats.

There is also free software that allows creating, viewing, or modifying documents in this format. Some of this software has features such as encryption and digital signing to protect the created content.

A PDF file can be created and exported using office suite-supported software such as Microsoft Office or OpenOffice programs. In addition, a document can be converted to this extension by creating a virtual printer in operating systems.

These files support the ISO standard for files containing electronic documents for their long-term protection and can be printed with any printer type regardless of any device.

PDF is the most suitable format to avoid errors or possible incompatibilities that may arise from graphic errors when preparing a resume. One of the reasons why this format is widely preferred is that the viewer developed by Adobe is always free.

PDF files and software that can edit and view these documents have been developed since 1991. In the following years, software that could only edit such documents began to be commercially launched. Initially, this software was available for free, but not all features were available.

The early versions of these documents did not feature the ability to add external links. Therefore, the use of this format on the Internet began to decline significantly.

Back then, the Internet was accessible via a dial-up modem, and the PDF format became more popular on broadband connections as the size of PDF documents was higher than plain text document types, and it became popular in several different areas such as advertising.

In addition, since these documents do not have a margin problem during printing, they can be displayed as a ready-to-print page as displayed on the screen.

Many software developed to edit and view files with PDF extensions. The commercial one is Adobe Acrobat Reader software, the other free software is OpenOffice.

One of the advantages of PDF is that contracts between individuals or institutions can be signed without the need to send by mail over the Internet.

In this case, when a person makes an agreement with an institution that is geographically far from home, it is more convenient to sign and send the necessary documents via the Internet with a PDF extension instead of sending them by correspondence.

A PDF document can be easily prepared by editing the documents with Photoshop and similar applications with the graphic tablet.

The use of this format ensures compatibility on many platforms in order to protect the integrity of the created documents. It is easy to send a document to someone and print that document regardless of the operating system and hardware the recipient uses.

Annotations or notes can be added to the PDF content, depending on the documents created. Also, electronic forms that the user can fill out can be created and saved.

It also makes data exchange easier by avoiding the use of paper in offices and is more professional than other formats in creating interactive documents.
