How to Install Windows 10 on Virtual Machine Using VMware Workstation?
First, you need to create a new virtual machine to install Windows 10 using VMware. After you create a Windows virtual machine, you can start the installation by adding the downloaded ISO file to the virtual machine.

Once you have created a new virtual machine, follow the steps below to install Windows 10 on VMware Workstation 15 / 14 / 12 step by step.
Open VMware Workstation and click CD/DVD (SATA) to add the Windows ISO file to your virtual machine.
In the Virtual Machine Settings window, select the Use ISO image file option.
Click the Browse button to specify the location of the Windows 10 ISO file.
Select the Microsoft_Windows_10_Enterprise_X64_RedStone_EN.isofile and click the Open button.
Close the Virtual Machine Settings window by clicking on the OK button.
To run the Windows virtual machine, click the Power on this virtual machine button.
Wait while the Windows virtual machine powers on.
Starting Windows installation on VMware…
Set the system language, keyboard layout and time setting you want to use for the Windows operating system, and click the Next button.
Start the Windows installation by clicking the Install Now button.
Windows installation is starting…
Accept the Windows license agreement and click Next.
Click Custom to make a clean Windows installation.
Click New to configure the VMware virtual disk.
To use the entire disk, leave the Size field at its default value and click the Apply button.
Click on the OK button in the information window to create additional sections on the Windows disk.
Select Drive 0 Chapter 2 and click Next to continue Windows installation.
Wait while the files are being prepared for installation. This may take some time depending on your computer’s performance and your virtual machine hardware settings.
Installing Windows 10 on VMware Workstation…
After the installation copies the necessary files, the virtual machine will restart automatically.
Click the Use Quick Settings button.
Wait while making the necessary settings.
Type a user account name for your Windows virtual machine and click Next.
Wait for the installation to make the necessary settings.
Wait while preparing the Windows desktop.
Wait on the “We are setting the settings for you” screen.
Wait while preparing Windows applications.
You have successfully completed the steps to set up Windows step by step using VMware!
The Windows start menu view looks like the following.
To check the operating system version, right-click on My Computer and then click Properties. You can check the Windows version in the system window.
