   Step 1

To install Wine 3.17 on Ubuntu 18.04/18.10, open the Terminal and execute the following commands in order.

1) sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
2) wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/Release.key
3) sudo apt-key add Release.key
4) sudo apt-add-repository 'deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/ bionic main'
5) sudo apt-get update
6) sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-devel

 
   Step 2

After installing Wine on Ubuntu 18.04/18.10, you can check Wine version with the wine –version command.
