How to Install Wine 4.1 to Install Windows Program on Ubuntu 18.10?

If you have not done the Ubuntu 18.10 installation before, check out our article from here. After installing Ubuntu 18.10, open Terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T on the Ubuntu desktop and apply the following commands in order to install Wine 4.1 on Ubuntu 18.10.

1) sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 
2) wget -nc
3) sudo apt-key add winehq.key
4) sudo apt-add-repository 'deb cosmic main'
5) sudo apt update
6) sudo apt install --install-recommends winehq-stable


After applying the above commands, the latest version of Wine will be installed on Ubuntu 18.10. The latest version of Wine is 4.1.

Once you’ve installed Wine, you can start Wine with the winecfg command in Terminal. You can also use the wine –version command to check the Wine version.
