How to Install PlayOnMac on Mac OS Mojave

You cannot normally run a Windows program (.exe) on Mac computers. Any program extension on macOS operating systems is .dmg.

There is PlayOnMac program developed to run Windows applications on Mac. With PlayOnMac, you can install and run Windows applications and games on a Mac.

In our previous articles, we installed PlayOnMac and PlayOnLinux on macOS and Linux systems.

You can use PlayOnLinux to run Windows-compatible programs on Linux systems.

In this article, we will install the PlayOnMac 4.2.12 step by step on Apple’s new operating system, macOS 10.14.

NOTE: You can also install PlayOnMac on your macOS 10.15 Catalina system by following this guide.

How to Use PlayOnMac

If you haven’t installed macOS on a virtual machine before, you can check out our article How to Install macOS 10.14 using VMware.

The latest version of PlayOnMac is 4.2.12. To install PlayOnMac on mac OS Mojave, please follow the steps below.

   Step 1

To download PlayOnMac for Mac, first, visit and then click the Download PlayOnMac button.

After downloading the PlayOnMac.dmg file, double-click it to start the installation.

Wait while the PlayOnMac_4.2.12.dmg file is opening.

Drag and drop PlayOnMac into Applications.

You may experience an error window like the following when running PlayOnMac. Click OK in the warning window and open System Preferences.
