How to Set Up GNS3 on macOS Mojave
You can use GNS3 on Windows, Linux, and macOS. After installing GNS3, all you have to do is add a few Cisco Router IOS images. The Cisco Packet Tracer is more widely used for Cisco’s beginner exams because it is easier to use.
Using GNS3 for Cisco CCNP exams is the most logical way. Because Packet Tracer is inadequate for Cisco CCNA exams.

In this article, we will examine how to install GNS3 on Mac OS Mojave 10.14.
How to Run GNS3 on Mac
If you haven’t installed macOS Mojave before, you can take a look at our links below.
After installing Mojave, follow the steps below to install GNS3.
Visit the GNS3 website and click the Download button.
To use and download GNS3 on Mac, click the Download button under Mac.
Wait while downloading the GNS3.dmg file.
Double-click on the GNS3.dmg file and start the installation.
Drag and drop GNS3 into Applications in the installation window.
Wait while copying GNS3 to Applications.
Double-click the GNS3 icon to launch GNS3.
You will receive the following warning when you download the program from an unknown source on your Mac. Click OK to close the macOS unknown development warning and go to the next step.
Open the Security & Privacy settings in macOS Mojave and click the Open Anyway button.
Click the Open button.
After opening GNS3, select Run only legacy IOS on my computer to add the Cisco Router to GNS3 in the Setup Wizard window and click Next.
Click Yes to grant GNS3 uBridge Root permission.
Type your macOS user account password and click OK.
After successfully connecting to GNS3 Local Server, click Next.
In the Setup Wizard window, click Finish.
In the new device template window, select Add an iOS router using a real IOS image (supported by Dynamips) and click OK.
Click the Browse button to add the Cisco Router IOS image to the GNS3 program running on the Mac, then select the IOS image and click the Open button.
After adding the IOS image to GNS3, click Next.
Specify the Idle-PC value for the Cisco Router you added and click Finish.
Create a new project on GNS3.
You must assign access to the GNS3 network simulator program. Click the Open System Preferences button in the warning window below.
After opening Security & Privacy, check the GNS3 program in the Accessibility section.
Drag and drop the Cisco Router you added to GNS3 to the workspace and run the Router. After opening the router’s CLI command prompt, you can learn the IOS version with the show version command.
