How to Setup and Run GNS3 and on Mac

Follow the steps below to install GNS3 2.1 on Mac OS.

   Step 1

To download GNS3 2.1 for macOS High Sierra, go to the GNS3 website and click the Download button.

In the window where GNS3 is available for Windows, Linux and Mac, click the Download button under Mac.

After downloading the program to your computer, double-click the DMG file extension, and then drag and drop GNS3 to the Applications section.

   Step 4

Go to Applications and run GNS3. Click the Open button to skip the error “GNS3 is from an unidentified developer“.

If you cannot run it on a Mac, you must allow this application in the Security and Privacy section in the Settings section.

After running GNS3, in the Setup Wizard window, select Run only legacy IOS on my computer to add the Cisco Router.

Select the Router c7200 IOS and click the Open button.

After adding the Cisco Router c7200 image to GNS3, drag and drop the Router c7200 to the workspace and run it to test the Router.
