How to Install Cisco Packet Tracer on macOS Mojave using Wine?
Before moving on to setting up Packet Tracer on macOS Mojave, you need to install Wine on macOS 10.14. For Wine installation on macOS 10.14, please click on the image below to see the related article.
After installing Wine, follow the steps below to install Packet Tracer 7.1.1 on macOS Mojave step by step.
Download the Windows-compatible Cisco Packet Tracer program from here and start the installation by double-clicking on the PacketTracer711.exe file after extracting the zipped file.
Once the wine program automatically open, you can click on the Go button to load it into the Prefix you created.
At the Cisco Packet Tracer 7.1.1 installation window, accept the license agreement and click Next.
Leave the Packet Tracer installation location in the default location and click Next.
Leave the Cisco Packet Tracer Start Menu Folder as the default setting and click the Next button.
To create a desktop shortcut, select Create a desktop shortcut and click on the Next button.
To install Cisco Packet Tracer 7.1.1 on macOS Mojave, click the Install button.
Wait while Cisco Packet Tracer 7.1.1 is being installed.
Once the installation is complete, select Launch Cisco Packet Tracer to start the Packet Tracer and click Finish.
Your network design projects you created on Packet Tracer will be saved in the following location. You can change this value in Options / Preferences to save the PKT files in a different location.
Wait while the Cisco Packet Tracer opens on the MacOS.
If you have a Netacad account, you can log in at the following window. Click on the Guest Login button to log in to the Packet Tracer.
After 15 seconds, click the Confirm Guest button.
After installing Cisco Packet Tracer 7.1.1 on macOS Mojave 10.14, you can check the version of the program from Help / About.
