Dynamic Routing is automatically generated by routing protocols. The routing table is sent to other Routers on the network.

Dynamic Routing configuration does not take time like the Static Routing process. Subnets connected to each Router on the network are defined. These routers then share the routing table between themselves.

As a result of errors on the network, routes are recalculated and the Routers update the routing table. For example, when a router on the network fails, other Routers will wait for that target for a certain amount of time, and after that time they will remove that route by updating their routing tables.

Types of Routing Algorithms

The Routing Algorithm is divided into two groups:

1. Distance Vector Routing Protocol

3. Hybrid Routing Protocol

The hybrid routing protocol uses both the Distance Vector and the Link State routing protocol. An example of the hybrid routing protocol is the EIGRP protocol. The EIGRP protocol is for Cisco Routers only.
